The comic series has already been adapted for film twice before, but Hellboy is set to return once more to the big screen in April 2019. Creator, writer and artist of the original series, Mike Mignola, has agreed that director Neil Marshall’s take on the reboot is to be a darker, and an altogether more accurate reflection of the comics. With the promise of more gore and more violence, 2019’s Hellboy stars David Harbour in the title role and Milla Jovovich as Nimue, the Blood Queen.
The Lion King
The long-awaited remake of Disney’s 1994 classic is set to hit cinemas in July 2019. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and led by esteemed director Jon Favreau, this computer animated take on The Lion King features everyone from Beyonce to Donald Glover providing voices. James Earl Jones is set to reprise his role as Mufasa, while Elton John will be reworking his original songs.
Described by lead Taron Egerton as a ‘fantasy musical’ as opposed to a simple biopic, the forthcoming film about the life of Sir Elton John is one to watch for 2019. Produced by John and his partner, David Furnish, Rocketman also features Richard Madden as the star’s manager and partner, John Reid. Following Elton’s early years right through to his stratospheric rise to fame, expect plenty of singing from the whole cast; “It’s actually his songs used to express important beats in his life at emotional moments,” said Egerton who plays the title role.
